((I'm about to make 36 massive parts to a 6X6 map, and there's going to be a ton of grass on it. Thus, the curiosity about pretty magical grass. <3 ))

I use Photoshop. If you have a tablet, then just draw some grass blades or bushes or whatever sutis you best (draw them on white canvas, preferrably with black or a dark tone). Then, go to Edit - Define Brush Preset and make yourself a nifty new grass brush
But to get a real grass effect instead of singal grass blades in a row, you need to adjust settings on your brushes palette/settings (like add shape dynamics, colour dynamics, scattering or other stuff to make your grass look like grass). Then save the new brush with said settings.
I dont know much about other programs but in photoshop it works like that. If you work with a mouse instead of tablet, then you can still get the same effect except you won't have pressure sensitivity to play with (which is a minor thing concerning grass)
