Alexander Gorchakov, portrayed by Stepan Balakshin in the 2007 film "18-14".

He was a (apparently) a prince (in the movie he is referred with some sort of rank of Slavic nobility that does not translate into English), who studied in the Tsarskoje Selo Lyceum along with Alexander Pushkin in the early 19th century and later became state chancellor of the Russian Empire.

I liked the movie and I was looking for an excuse to try pencils again and draw something precise.

Took 4-5 days, most of it done lying on a couch, unlike a normal person who would do this behind a desk. I couldn't even find a picture I liked, or grab a good screenie, not to even mention the poor quality of the picture I eventually chose (here [link]). I don't like that there aren't enough pictures of lesser-known people on the internets ._.

The hair was really tricky. Halfway through I was "That's... I can't... I can't DO that!" So it's mostly improvised. The second thing that made me suffer was drawing the mouth, which to me, in any picture, is the hardest thing of all. I think it's even more important than the eyes in terms of getting the expression right x.x

Then the inevitable happened and it all went horribly wrong
There is a likeness to the reference. That's all for now I think it's gonna be one of those things I might redo in a year as sort of a "kick your own ass" thing

Drawing with pencils like this was so enjoyable They all shrunk by an inch at least xD _{This could become expensive O.O}
